Saturday dawned cold but bright and around 17 riders set off in two groups from North Baddesley. The autumn colours were still very much in evidence especially as we made our way up to the top of Farley Mount.
Ably led by Paul Rayfield we made our way through Hiltingbury, Standon,Farley, Ashley, Up Somborne to the duck pond at Crawley and then into the outskirts of Winchester for coffee. We were made very welcome at the Little Kitchen Bistro.
The route back took us through Sparsholt, Standon and Braishfield to North Baddesley where the group dispersed.
A special mention goes to Jim who was elected back marker, he suffered a puncture on the way to the start, a broken brake cable just after we left and while he was riding to catch us up was very nearly hit by a deer. He still managed to make it to the coffee stop at the same time as the group.
Thanks to Paul for leading a thoroughly enjoyable if eventful ride.
