Another very warm day was in prospect as this long hot spell continues. Temperatures approaching 30C and the countryside beginning to show the effects of this long dry weather. Two groups again.  We were able to make the most of the cooler part of the day crossing the forest through Beaulieu (plenty of pristine Jaguars on show) Norleywood, Pilley, Boldre and across near Sway to the cafe at Holmsley railway station This is well set up now with an outside Kiosk. The route then took us through the ever popular Burley before heading south then left into the Avon Valley. The A31 at Ringwood was stuffed with cars heading west. The pub was not busy at Poulner (yesterdays world cup quarter finals had probably done for most ) and everyone just enjoyed the cool indoors.
The heat had intensified by the time we had to leave and a steady head wind across the forest to Fritham kept us cool if not always appreciating our dehydration.
Thank you to our Leaders on the day. A good route giving us great views across the forest and Avon Valley.
