The stiff northerly that had been blowing had turned to a brisk north
easterly by Sunday. Unusually there had been frost in the week. A good
group turned out in the shelter of the Redbridge Flyover. The faster
group took in the northern perimeter of the forest, Nomansland, Lover and
Godshill. The slower group were more circumspect and went straight over
to Fordingbridge for coffee arriving ahead of the first group. The back
room at Bridges Cafe fitted us all in and the staff  again gave
excellent service.

Nine went on to lunch at North Poulner via
Cranbourne,Edmondsham,Alderholt then across the river to Mockbeggar
taking in a loop of quiet countryside we have not visited much this
year. Lunch was at The London Tavern which has been transformed since
the summer with new owners. Very busy and a good thing we had booked.
The route back across Stoney Cross was a struggle against the steady
wind that had given us a push in the morning however the unbroken
sunshine brought out the best of the autumn colours that are reaching
their peak.

Thank you Mark for organizing such a good day out.
