As we have moved into December the wind has finally arrived managing to
dislodge the final leaves from the trees. Coupled with the rain last
week the lanes have now become mucky and regular bike cleaning has had
to be resumed. Wednesday saw a real hoolie, but Alan was determined to
show some Bulldog spirit and after being blown about the forest and
soaked through we were able to enjoy a brunch at the Spot in the Woods.
The ride on Friday to Bucklers Hard was well supported. Sue lead with a
good pace down to the visitor centre where we were well looked after.
Sunday saw a large group at Chilworth. Simon was unavoidably delayed
with tyre blow out but the arrangements for the day worked out in the
end with 3 different paced groups making it to the Hawk Conservancy. It
was good to meet some old friends from Winchester there before our
return down the Test Valley. The weather has been quite warm this week
and apart from the roads has made for good cycling. The length of ride
also seems popular with everyone getting back in good time in the afternoon.
Thank you to all who have taken part this week and also to our leaders
who have provided such good routes.
